About M.I.
Musicians Institute is the worlds most innovative
contemporary music school. With programs for guitar, bass, drums,
keyboards, vocals, recording and guitar building ranging in length
from three months to four years, MI offers complete career training
for the contemporary musician in its state-of-the-art Los Angeles
facilities.
MI began in 1977 as the Guitar Institute of Technology.
Founded by guitar legend Howard Roberts, GIT was the first
full-time program designed specifically for the electric guitarist.
It was soon followed by the Bass Institute of Technology (BIT),
which offered the same innovative learning approach to electric
bassists. Over the years, other programs based on the MI educational
philosophy of practical, hands-on, performance-oriented instruction
have joined the fold, making it possible today for a guitarist
or bassist to develop his or her playing, singing, songwriting,
engineering, production and marketing abilities, all under one
roof.
1999 saw MI became the proud partner of the Fender® Musical
Instruments Corp. As MIs exclusive provider of guitar
and bass amplification, Fender powers every lesson, lab, class,
and performance workshop for GIT and BIT.
